Laura is passionate about naturopathic medicine and helping people achieve their optimal health! She is in her final year of school and extremely excited to be completing part of her naturopathic internship at Affinity Health Clinic in New Hamburg on Thursdays. She will still be working at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic in Toronto offering both in person and virtual video or phone visits for residents of Ontario. Laura works alongside Naturopathic Doctors to provide care to patients.
Before beginning her naturopathic journey, Laura completed an Honours Bachelor’s of Science with a Double Major in Medical Sciences and Italian Language & Culture at Western University in 2017. She has completed 3 years of schooling at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine and an 8 month internship at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic in Toronto. During her education, Laura has taken elective courses focusing on managing fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome, fertility, homeopathic prescribing, and advanced botanical medicine. She has also completed her Mental Health First Aid Training through the Canadian Mental Health Association.
Laura’s focus during her internship has been working with adults with diabetes, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, irritable bowel syndrome, and migraines to manage symptoms and improve quality of life. She is skilled in assessing for any medication-supplement interactions and working closely with medical doctors to maintain open communication about patients. By focusing on nutritional counselling, botanical medicine, acupuncture, and individualized treatment plans, Laura looks forward to helping people of all ages to reduce pain, optimize sleep and digestion and improve their energy!
